Everything a budgeting app should do, and more besides

Fourteen planning tools that most budgeting apps do not have — and none of the configuration they usually come with

Multi-Currency Support

Hold accounts in 49 currencies with daily exchange rates, all rolling up into the single base currency you actually think in.

Advanced Analytics

See whether things are getting better or worse — spending trends, income patterns and your savings rate over time.

Spending Reports

Generate comprehensive reports on your spending habits. Track where your money goes with detailed breakdowns and visual charts.

Smart Budgeting

Set spending limits by category on weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly periods, with a pace-aware forecast that flags overspending before it happens.

Investment Tracking

Record what each holding is worth over time — stocks, ETFs, crypto, property — in its own currency, and see it all in your net worth.

Subscription Tracker

Find forgotten subscriptions and track recurring charges. See your total monthly cost and stop paying for services you don't use.

AI Agents & MCP

Connect Claude to your finances with scoped access. Hand it a statement and it writes the transactions in — categorised, in bulk.

Savings Goals

Set multiple savings targets with deadlines and track progress visually. Emergency fund, vacation, down payment — all in one place.

Net Worth Tracker

See your complete financial picture — assets minus liabilities — and track how your net worth grows over time.

Envelope Budgeting

Allocate money into named envelopes and order them by priority, so on a tight month you already know what gets funded first.

Sinking Funds

Turn once-a-year bills into a monthly amount you barely notice. Insurance, Christmas, the new laptop — funded before they arrive.

Debt Payoff Planner

Avalanche and snowball run side by side, with your debt-free date and exactly what the cheaper strategy saves you.

Cash Flow Forecast

A 90-day projection that finds your low point before you hit it, plus a 12-month view of which months are going to hurt.

Safe to Spend

One honest daily number for what's genuinely left — and it tells you when it's gone stale rather than quietly misleading you.

Comprehensive Financial Dashboard

Get a complete view of your financial health with detailed analytics, spending reports, investment tracking, and budget monitoring all in one intuitive dashboard.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about managing your finances with Spendly

How does Spendly work?
Add your accounts, each in its own currency, then get transactions in however suits you — connect your bank in the US, EU or UK, upload a statement, CSV or screenshot, import through an AI assistant over Spendly's MCP integration, or add them by hand. From that ledger Spendly builds category budgets, envelopes, sinking funds, savings goals, debt payoff plans, net worth and a 12-month forward projection, all converted into the one base currency you choose.
How many currencies does Spendly support?
Spendly supports 49 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, AUD, CAD, CHF, AED, SGD and INR. Each account holds one currency; exchange rates refresh daily so balances, budgets and reports roll up correctly into your base currency.
Can I track investments alongside my daily expenses?
Yes. You record what each holding is worth on a date — stocks, ETFs, funds, bonds, crypto, cash, property or anything else — and Spendly keeps that value history and folds it into your net worth alongside your budgets and spending. It does not pull live market prices, which means it also handles assets a price feed cannot quote, like a flat or a private holding.
How does budget planning work in Spendly?
You set spending limits by category on weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly periods, with a custom start day so a period can match your pay cycle. Each budget shows a live progress bar and a pace-aware forecast that flags when your current spending rate would take you over — before you have already overshot.
Is my financial data secure?
Sign-in supports passkeys and app-based two-factor authentication, sessions use httpOnly cookies that can be revoked server-side at any time, and repeated failed sign-in attempts are rate-limited and locked out. Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest and backups are encrypted. Your data is yours: export it to CSV or delete your account whenever you want.
Can Spendly find forgotten subscriptions?
You add each subscription once — amount, currency, billing cadence and next renewal date — and Spendly keeps the ledger. Weekly, quarterly and yearly billing are all normalised to a true monthly and annual cost, with a renewal warning seven days out, and subscriptions priced in different currencies convert into your base currency for an honest total.
How do savings goals work?
Create a goal with a target amount and deadline, and Spendly calculates your required monthly contribution. You can track multiple goals at once — emergency fund, vacation, down payment — each with a progress bar, a months-remaining figure and an on-pace or behind indicator that updates as you contribute.
Can I track my net worth over time?
Spendly calculates your net worth by combining all your assets (savings, investments, property) and subtracting liabilities (loans, credit card debt). It tracks changes month over month so you can see whether your financial decisions are moving you forward.
What kind of spending reports does Spendly generate?
Spendly generates detailed breakdowns by category, time period, and currency. You can see exactly where your money goes each month, compare spending across periods, and spot trends before they become problems.
What devices can I use Spendly on?
Spendly runs in any modern browser and installs to your home screen as a Progressive Web App on iOS and Android. It keeps working offline — log an expense on a plane and it syncs when you reconnect. You install it from the browser rather than an app store.
